Hermit Curious

This week was my first full week away from London, just me and Neil. If you’d told me a year ago that I’d be living this quietly, I’d never have believed you. Yet here I am, and I absolutely love it. I’ve started calling myself hermit curious. My days now begin with an early morning walk, a workout, and then straight onto the laptop. By lunchtime, most of my work is done and it feels like I’m living a completely different life simply because I’ve removed myself from everything that surrounded me before.

With fewer distractions, I threw myself into The Pink Gorilla Collective. Every morning this week I went live, giving free profile audits and chatting to small business owners. It wasn’t about selling, it was about listening. Hearing what people are genuinely struggling with has been invaluable and it’s helped me refine the Collective even more before next week’s launch. I’ve also sent out application forms to everyone on the waiting list and I’m working through them now because I want to make sure I’m building something that genuinely helps the people who join.

One thing I’ve noticed is how good it feels to focus on just one project. Normally I’m spinning ten plates at once, and whilst I know I’ll probably get itchy feet eventually, for now my brain feels like it’s having a holiday. It’s calmer, clearer and I’m making better decisions because of it.

Saturday was another reminder that I’m exactly where I should be. I held my first in-house workshop, spending the day helping people work on their businesses face to face. I came away realising something that’s been bothering me for years. I’ve often told myself I suffered from imposter syndrome because I work so differently to everyone else I’ve met. The truth is, I don’t think it was imposter syndrome at all. I think I just felt like I had to constantly prove myself because my approach didn’t fit the mould.

Those feelings have gone.

I know I work differently, and that’s a strength. I care deeply about the people I help, I’m passionate about seeing small businesses succeed, and I genuinely wish someone had supported me the way I’m now able to support others. This week hasn’t been about huge wins or dramatic moments. It’s simply been about finding a little peace, a lot of clarity, and realising that sometimes stepping away from the noise is exactly what you need.

If you’re reading this and you’ve ever worked with me through Pink Gorilla Media, whether that’s a Power Hour, Creative Coaching, a website audit or anything in between, I’d love it if you could leave me a review.

Just head to the website, open the product you booked and scroll to the bottom of the page. Every single review genuinely helps. It builds trust, helps new people decide if I’m the right fit, and supports my little business more than you probably realise.

While I’ve been sitting in the countryside in glorious silence, looking like Barbara Cartland from Temu, I’ve actually been practising what I preach. Instead of just telling everyone else how to improve their websites, I’ve finally spent some time sorting out my own. It’s amazing what happens when you actually create the space to work on your business instead of constantly working in it.

So, if you’ve got two minutes and you found our time together helpful, I’d be incredibly grateful for a review. Thank you. ❤️
