Nothing Went to Plan… But Somehow, It All Did

I missed last week’s blog, but I had a good reason. I was running a women’s retreat on Dartmoor with Sara from Breathways. It was the third time ive been to the venue and I cant rave about it enough. It’s a magical place. It was the first time ive been though where the sun was beating upon us instead of rain and wind. I prefer rain and wind to be honest.

We took a group of women away from all the noise. We talked, laughed, faced a few fears, swam in streams tucked into the hills and worked out what we really need, both in life and in business.

The drive home felt like it lasted for days because the traffic was horrendous, but strangely, it didn’t bother me. I came away feeling so refreshed and chilled that even hours in the car couldn’t ruin it. I’m still riding the buzz now.

As soon as I got back, everything became very exciting, very quickly.

I was offered a new TV show, plans for the Wellness Tavern moved up a gear and, naturally, I started planning a party.

Today also marks the beginning of a new phase for the Pink Gorilla Collective. We’re welcoming our next group of dedicated small-business owners who need support, encouragement and people around them who genuinely understand what it takes. We’re very excited about what we’ll be able to offer them.

Nothing went to plan this week but, at the same time, it all went exactly to plan. If that makes any sense.

Things are really shifting for me now. It has taken a full year, and I was naïve to think it would happen any faster. My toxic trait is believing everything can be done by tomorrow. Apparently, some things take time. Who knew?

I know you’re all wondering what these plans are, and, more importantly, what’s happening with the TV show. I promise I’ll share everything. You know I can never keep my mouth shut for long, but I need to give it a few more weeks.

Coming back to the house where I’m chilling for the summer has somehow made me work faster and more efficiently. Because I apparently can’t just relax, I’ve also taken up sewing again.

I know I said I wouldn’t be making the Fanta dresses to sell, but I’ve accidentally created a really cool collection of upcycled clothes instead, which I’ll release in the next few days. This is purely something to keep my brain occupied. It is absolutely not a planned business. Having said that, I’ve already started the second collection.

The sewing machine will have to go into storage at the end of August when the building work begins on the workshop, so I’m clearly making the most of it while I can.

When I started this blog, I was very clear about the rules I wanted to stick to. I’ve managed to keep most of them. Working out has been fucked off completely this month because sewing has become my latest obsession, but I have been learning.

I’m currently doing a trading course and already believe I’m going to be the next Warren Buffett. I’ve turned £30 into £86, which might not make me an investment mogul just yet, but it’s a start. I’m learning about both long-term and short-term investing, and I’m enjoying having something completely new to get my head around.

If I suddenly come into money, I won’t be telling anyone.

But there will be signs. *googles where to by a pink metallic bathroom suite.

I hope things are going your way this week too. If not remember it will pass and it’ll be a shitty little memory soon.
